Gilbert-Stephenson Park is one of the stops on your day of fun in the sun.

START: Battlefield Outdoors
2871 Lafayette Road ~ Fort Oglethorpe (30 Minutes)

From here, you can rent bikes and take off to the Chickamauga Battlefield, or DISCS to play at the Black Branch Creek Disc Golf Course, pickleball and racquetball on our courts, or even a watercraft to take on the West Chickamauga Creek.

STOP 1: Chickamauga Battlefield
3370 Lafayette Road ~ Fort Oglethorpe (120 Minutes)

Begin at the Welcome Center and take your pick of hiking, biking, or driving tours of America’s oldest and largest military park.

STOP 2: Gilbert-Stephenson Park
19 Van Cleve Street ~ Fort Oglethorpe (60 Minutes)

An all-inclusive playground is open daily and includes climbing, sliding, playing, and gathering for all ages. While you are there, play on our state-of-the-art Pickleball courts or take a dip in our seasonal public pool.

STOP 3: Greenway / Dog Park / Disc Golf
From Gilbert-Stephenson Park (30 Minutes)

Turn left on the greenway from Golbert-Stephenson Park, and soon you’ll find yourself at the Black Branch Creek Disc Golf Course, an 18-hole recreational-level course that flows around City Hall. Along the way, you’ll pass the Bark City Dog Park.

FINISH: Fort Oglethorpe Welcome Center
10 Barnhardt ~ Fort Oglethorpe (60 Minutes)

Take the walking tour and get an up-close look at how the Fort stands today as a living history lesson. Bring your camera, some of the homes are beautiful!
